Quality, Health & Safety and Environment

Monitoring

"Designing a system that is inherently safe, ergonomically sound and easy to use is not optional; it is the only way to built it - this is Hydrafit engineering attitude" - Andy Fisher (Technical Director).

Hydrafit Subsea (UK) Limited has grown exponentially from its humble beginning in 2001 to become an international player in the oil and gas industry with long term projects in and outside UK. This growth can be attributed to the management for nurturing a dedicated workforce, creating a quality driven work ethic and ensuring a HSE culture on par with the best in the industry.

The legacy we would like to leave behind is a company that prides in the "ZERO"; value of LTI. We measure our success at the end of each day by ensuring everyone related to our operations is safe, the job performed by us is of top quality and our client is satisfied with our selection. We want people to go home in the same condition or better than when they came in at the start of the day.

The excellent QHSE culture of Hydrafit Subsea is not just restricted to our activities and operations but integrated in to the equipment and systems that we design and modify.

"Our business attitude is CAN DO - whatever be your needs and requirements with respect to subsea, we will endeavour to provide the total solution. We want to introduce the industry to our Intelligent Servicing; do it right, the first time, on time, every time and at the right price" - Steve King (Managing Director)

Health and Safety monitoring

Our "start" programme

We have a fully-fledged Quality Management System and an in-house H&S and Environment Management system in place. We are committed to streamlining and further improving our existing Quality Management System as well as working towards attaining environment and HSE certification. Our long term plan is to develop the management system by attaining ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 accreditation and to create an integrated management system (QHSE).

The industry uses the STOP card programme to initiate safety intervention, but we feel this programme is being greatly misinterpreted. This results in people stopping an unsafe job but not everyone takes the initiative to educate the concerned personnel and re-starting the work in the correct manner. This can create ill feeling towards safety as it is perceived to affect production.

We at Hydrafit Subsea advocate the START programme in line with our principle - let us start working safely and in a responsible manner. We ensure our people are taught and trained to start working safely and in the correct manner We want people to stop a job that they feel is unsafe, but at the same time we want them to provide a solution to correct the unsafe act / condition and ensure that the work is restarted and in the correct manner. We are keen to prove that Safety does not hinder production but boosts it.

  • Observe and Recognize Hazards
  • STOP the job communicate concern to the work force
  • Provide solution fix the problem
  • Ensure the job is re-started and in the correct manner
  • Ensure learning from intervention is passed on
